The Punjab government has taken action to burn stubble. Arrested 196 farmers and registered 327 FIRs. There have been 6,668 cases of stubble burning in one day and 37,935 cases till November 5.
Let us know that the Supreme Court will hold an important hearing on this matter on Wednesday on air pollution in Delhi-NCR. In which the Chief Secretary of Punjab, Haryana and UP will appear in the Supreme Court and will also give some specific information about preventing stubble burning.
The farmers have been arrested under Section 188 of the IPC for violating the orders of the district administration. The total number of stubble burning has gone up to 37,935, while 27,224 cases of stubble were reported till November 5 last year. The number of stubble burns recorded this year is more than 37,298 cases in 2017.
The PMO held a meeting on pollution in Delhi-NCR on Tuesday, in which the cabinet secretary has taken some steps to reduce pollution. Whatever steps have been taken, those steps have been reviewed. It was revealed that stubble is still being lit in Punjab and Haryana. Instructions have been given to these states to put more teams on the ground for surveillance so that those who burn stubble can be fined.
